Biochemistry professor Rick Amasino will be the featured speaker at Wednesday Nite @ the Lab this week. His talk, titled “Genetically Engineered Crops (GMOs): Fact and Fiction,” will include information about the range of genetically engineered crops that have been deployed in agriculture, the types of crops that might be developed in the future, and whether genetically engineered crops pose unique risks relative to conventionally bred crops. Much of his talk will relate to a recent National Academy of Sciences report that he coauthored, “Genetically Engineered Crops: Experiences and Prospects.”
Amasino’s talk runs 7:00-8:15p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 15 in room 1111 of the UW Biotechnology Center. It can also be viewed via live webcam at https://www.biotech.wisc.edu/webcams.This entry was posted in Events and tagged biochemistry, Wisconsin Idea by firstname.lastname@example.org.
