The Environmental Protection Agency is currently soliciting proposals for the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative and anticipates up to $26 million available in funding. A webinar explaining the grant application process will be held at 1 p.m. CST on Monday, Nov. 21, 2016. The request for applications and information about applying for GLRI grants is available at Great Lakes Restoration Initiative webpage.
The GLRI was launched in 2010 to accelerate efforts to protect and restore the largest system of fresh surface water in the world. The program has so far funded more than 3,000 projects to improve water quality, to protect and restore native habitat and species, to prevent and control invasive species and to address other environmental problems in the Great Lakes basin.

The application deadline is January 13, 2017, however, Great Lakes Restoration would like to receive the proposals by January 5, 2017, to allow time to review budgets and preparation of grants.gov forms.
