Annual Benefits Enrollment period ends in two weeks

This is a reminder that the Annual Benefits Enrollment period for benefits-eligible employees will be ending in two weeks. During the Annual Benefits Enrollment period, October 17-November 11, 2016, employees should review benefit plan changes and determine their benefits needs for 2017.

The Annual Benefits Enrollment period is the only annual opportunity for you to make changes to most of your benefits unless you have an eligible family status or employment change during the year. Changes made during the enrollment period are effective January 1, 2017. Even if you do not want to make any changes to your benefits, you do need to enroll each year (if you want to continue participation) in the Flexible Spending Accounts, the Health Savings Account (if you are enrolled in a High Deductible Health Plan), and the health insurance Opt-Out option. There is an Annual Benefits Enrollment information session open to all benefits-eligible employees on November 2nd from 2:30pm-4:00pm in the Union South Marquee. Please see the Annual Benefits Enrollment website found at  for more information on open enrollment opportunities available to you.

Most of your 2017 benefits elections can be made using Self Service (eBenefits) on the MyUW portal.  Please see the eBenefits Readiness Guide and the eBenefits Quick Start Guide for more information on using Self Service (eBenefits).

Also, there are two upcoming opportunities for employees who would like assistance using the online eBenefits system to make changes. CALS will be hosting an Open Lab on Thursday, November 3 in Room 150 Animal Science Building, 1675 Observatory Drive, from 1:00pm-4:00pm. UW-Madison Benefits staff will be present to assist with completing the eBenefits enrollment. Please bring all information required to enroll using eBenefits (such as spouse or dependent’s social security number and birth date if adding a spouse or dependent). Also, UW-Madison Benefits staff will be hosting an eBenefits Open Lab on November 2nd from 1pm-4pm at 21 N Park St, Room 5041. Cultural Linguistics Services (CLS) will be onsite to provide assistance during this lab. No pre-registration is required as these are open labs for employees to drop-in at their convenience.
