Mary-Claire King, discoverer of BRCA1’s role in breast cancer, to give Oct. 5 talk

Mary-Claire King, known for identifying the BRCA1 gene responsible for inherited susceptibility to breast cancer, will be the Genetics Colloquium speaker on Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2016. King will give her talk, titled “Genomic analysis of inherited breast and ovarian cancer: from gene discovery to precision medicine and public health,” at 3:30 p.m. in the Ebling Auditorium, Microbial Sciences Building.
