This week’s Wednesday Nite @ The Lab talk will be given by entomology professor Dan Young on the topic “Insect Diversity, Development and Habitats: The Fire-colored Beetles of Wisconsin.” The talk will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 17 in room 1111 of the Genetics-Biotechnology Center Building.
Attendees will get a very brief glimpse into the astonishing biological diversity of insects as seen through the compound eyes of one of Young’s favorite groups of insects: fire-colored beetles. The talk will focus on the developmental stages, their natural history and species richness here in Wisconsin. It will close with a reflection on some conservation implications. This entry was posted in Events, Healthy Ecosystems and tagged entomology, Wisconsin Idea by firstname.lastname@example.org.
