Students fare well in ASABE International Meeting competitions

UW-Madison students fared well in the various student competitions held at this year’s annual American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers international meeting.

Ryan Baumgartner, Grace Skarlupka, Parker Williams and Tanner Wears put together a video that placed second in the first annual Tractor Seatbelt & ROPS Usage ASABE Student Branch Video Contest. Their second place finished earned the UW-Madison ASABE Preprofessionals $3500.

The UW-Madison ASABE Preprofessionals placed second in the 2016 Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) Trophy Competition. Ryan Baumgartner assembled the winning document with input from his fellow student officers.

As part of the 2016 AGCO National Student Design Competition, Caynen Klessig assembled and delivered an oral presentation titled Separation Device for Hazelnut Kernels and Shells. Caynen and his BSE senior design team members (Kathleen Roush, Rebecca Smith and Haohua Wang) placed second in the annual competition.
