Bret Payseur receives Vilas Faculty Mid-Career Investigator Award
Associate Professor of Genetics Bret Payseur, who has appointments in CALS and the School of Medicine and Public Health, was recently awarded a Vilas Faculty Mid-Career Investigator Award. The award provides $100,000 in flexible research funds over two academic years.
Payseur is an expert in the genetics of speciation, the genetics of adaptive evolution and recombination. His research program combines the power of genomic data with concepts and tools from population genetics to draw insights on long-standing questions about the evolutionary process and the nature of genetic variation.
