Anna Pidgeon selected for Vilas Faculty Mid-Career Investigator Award
Forest and wildlife ecology associate professor Anna Pidgeon, an expert on avian ecology and landscape ecology, was recently selected to receive a Vilas Faculty Mid-Career Investigator Award. The award provides $100,000 in flexible research funds over two academic years.
Pidgeon’s areas of expertise include bird-habitat relationships, human impacts on wildlife, Wisconsin terrestrial vertebrates, and conservation biology and planning.
Pidgeon is also co-leader of campus’ Spatial Analysis for Conservation and Sustainability (SILVIS) Lab, which engages in research projects on ecology, conservation and natural resource management.
