Bernie O’Rourke, extension youth livestock specialist with CALS and UW-Extension, was among a group of individuals selected to receive an Excellence in Animal Science Award from the National Association of Extension 4-H Agents (NAE4-HA). They were honored for producing the Livestock Learning Webinar Series, a series geared toward new and experienced 4-H families exhibiting livestock, and received the awards at the NAE4-HA annual conference in October.

In her role as an extension specialist, O’Rourke shares current research and practices with youth and adults engaged in 4-H, FFA and other organizations. She also teaches a career orientation course for college undergraduates, advises the Saddle & Sirloin club, and is involved in local and state-wide organizations.
