This month’s Saturday Science at Discovery will reveal some of the secrets of food. This free, family-friendly event, which runs 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Nov. 7 in the Town Center of the Discovery Building, will give visitors an opportunity to:

  • Explore the science of taste
  • Learn how our food is made
  • Examine the chemistry and physics of food
  • Discover the microbiology of food
  • Bring a non-perishable food item to support NBC15’s Share Your Holidays

If you’re sad that you won’t be able to make the event, maybe this will cheer you up: Blue Sky Science just released a fun video about how gummy bears are made, featuring food science professor Rich Hartel. You can watch it here.

Saturday Science at Discovery is a monthly series that features interactive exploration stations centered around a particular topic. Families and learners of all ages are invited to explore hands-on science fun during this free drop-in event, which generally is held from 10 a.m. until noon on the first Saturday of each month in the Town Center of the Discovery Building.
