Saturday was a beautiful day for football and a big day for CALS with two events benefiting the college.
The annual WALSAA Football Fire-Up attracted nearly 300 alumni and friends of CALS to listen to music from the Soggy Prairie Boys, sing along with the UW Marching Band, take pictures with Bucky, sip on Inaugural Red and bid on some great items in the silent auction. The Fire-Up event brought in about $25,000 that will support CALS students and faculty.
Just as Fire-Up was winding down, the third annual Celebrate Agriculture game was gearing up. Sponsors of the Celebrate Agriculture football game include Accelerated Genetics, Badgerland Financial, Case IH, Cleary Building Corporation, CROPLAN by Winfield, Culver’s, Dairyland Seed, DeLaval and DuPont Pioneer. As part of the special game day celebration, a check for $12,500 was presented to Dean VandenBosch before kickoff.
