Allen Centennial Gardens is offering three fun events in August, all of which are free and open to the public.
The first event, Bulletproof Summer Perennials, takes place Saturday, August 15 at 3:00 p.m. and is a guided walk through the garden. Perennials suited for late summer will be featured, and the walk will be hosted by Benjamin Futa, director of the garden. If you’re interested in attending, RSVP by August 14th if possible. The Facebook event page can be found here.
The second event is an heirloom tomato tasting on Saturday, August 22 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Participants will explore the flavors these tomatoes have to offer and can stop by anytime to this drop-in activity. More information about the event can be found on Facebook here.
The third event, Garden Photography, takes place Saturday, August 29 at 9:00 a.m. The hands-on class will offer participants camera basics, lighting tips and other suggestions for taking the best possible outdoor photos. RSVP by August 29th if possible. The Facebook event page can be found here.
