American Meat Science Association honors two CALS faculty

The American Meat Science Association will present two CALS faculty members with awards this summer at the Reciprocal Meats Conference, set for June 14-17 at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Jim Claus has been selected to receive the 2015 American Meat Science Association Distinguished Teaching Award. This honor recognizes Claus’ commitment to teaching and his students’ success, as well as to the future of the meat industry as a whole.

Jeff Sindelar will receive the 2015 American Meat Science Association Distinguished Extension Industry Award, which honors the impact of Sindelar’s outreach work across Wisconsin, the nation and the globe.

The American Meat Science Association is made up of members who discover, develop and disseminate knowledge about meat science. Members include more than 1,000 scientists from universities, teaching institutions and meat processing companies in the U.S. and internationally.
