Sessions to implement Diversity Framework will be held in April

Last fall, UW-Madison introduced Forward Together, a Diversity Framework, with the goal of creating a university community that encourages the full participation of all of its members and maximizes the expression of their talents and contributions.

Since November, six committees made up of faculty, staff and students have been working to research and prioritize initial action items for six major categories: faculty/staff professional development and capacity-building experiences, undergraduate curriculum, administration and accountability, access and recruitment, STEM initiatives, and retention and research.

Now the proposed initial steps are being introduced to the campus and broader community. In early April, four sessions will be held on campus and four sessions off campus. Translation services will be provided to ensure access to everyone. Each session will consist of a presentation, questions and answers and refreshments. The campus sessions are open to students, faculty and staff.
