Center for Cooperatives offers employee ownership program April 8

Both job creation and retention are critical to growing Wisconsin’s economy. Unfortunately, many business owners wait until it is too late to plan their exit strategy and few are aware that selling to one’s employees can be an attractive alternative to liquidation or selling to an out-of-state firm. At Employee Ownership: A Business Retention Strategy, economic development professionals and business owners will hear from peers about their experiences converting existing businesses to employee ownership. Attendees will leave with practical tools and resources to assist a business through the conversion process. Business owners who are considering employee ownership as a succession plan are encouraged to attend.

Register for the program presented by the University of Wisconsin-Madison Center for Cooperatives and University of Wisconsin-Extension at the Fluno Center in Madison, WI on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 from 9:30am-2:30pm with an optional tour of Isthmus Engineering and Manufacturing from 3:00-4:00pm.
