Gianola honored by Italian agricultural sciences academy

gianola150Animal sciences and dairy science professor Daniel Gianola was recently elected Accademico Corrispondente (academic correspondent) of Accademia dei Georgofili in Florence, Italy. The Accademia dei Georgofili, established in 1753, serves as the main academy for agricultural sciences in Italy and is well known for promoting the study of agronomy, forestry, economy, geography and agriculture amongst scholars and landowners.

Gianola has been invited to receive his diploma of Accademico Corrispondente in person at Florence’s Palazzo Vecchio in April, and he plans to attend the event. The ceremony will take place at the exquisite Salone dei Cinquecento (pictured below).
