Needed: Your ideas for exhibit on nutrient loading for next summer’s Farm Tech Days

Since next year’s Wisconsin Farm Technology Days will be held in Dane County, the event’s educational committee believes there is an opportunity to have some displays on an issue that affects the broader community. UW-Extension presents educational exhibits featuring CALS agricultural production departments and individual researchers’ work. Some of these are geared to farmers, but many of the attendees are not farmers. We believe that the Yahara Lakes nutrient loading issue would be a great focus since it is an issue that affects all who live in the community. It’s also a chance to highlight UW research that is helping Wisconsin.

I would like to convene a meeting to see if there is interest in developing some multidisciplinary displays to:

  • Identify the issues
  • Identify solutions
  • Provide actions that each person in the community can take to help solve the problem

If you’re interested, please go to this Doodle poll and indicate your availability. If the times don’t work but you are interested, please let me know and I’ll make sure to include you in future communications.
