As many of you know, UW-Madison has a new online system for alcohol beverage service permits. Event organizers must complete responsible employee training and then apply for an alcohol service permit through the new online system. Below are some reminders about this new system.
There is a 24-hour waiting period between when you take the online training and when you can apply for a permit. Please plan accordingly.
When applying for an online permit for your CALS event, please indicate Doug Sabatke as the authorized university official for approval. If the event will be located at an ARS station, then you may indicate Dwight Mueller as the authorized university official.
Please submit your permit for approval at least one week in advance of your event. The Dean’s Office requires adequate time to review and approve your permit. Timely submission is extremely important, as permits submitted late or right before an event may not be approved.
Please refer to the following website to read more about the policies regarding events with alcohol, to access the online training, and to apply for an alcohol beverage service permit: http://students.wisc.edu/alcoholinfo/alcoholbevpermit.html
