The Office of University Relations is accepting applications to the Statewide Outreach Incentive Grant Program. This program is open to UW–Madison faculty and staff and is designed to create awareness and understanding of the value the UW–Madison provides to the state of Wisconsin.
Grants of up to $500.00 will be awarded to help defray expenses related to taking outreach programming to communities outside of Dane County. By expanding the reach of researchers and outreach specialists to areas outside of Dane County we hope to demonstrate that the resources and expertise at UW-Madison benefit the entire state.
There is a total amount of $10,000 available in FY14-15 for this grant program. Applications will be accepted until funding has been depleted.
Examples of qualifying outreach activities could be along these lines:
- Presentations or visits to community groups, business organizations, service groups, etc.
- Create an “experts roundtable” event around a topic of interest to a certain population or demographic and invite the community to come listen, ask questions or gain new understanding. Invite local government officials and the media.
- Science on Tap in Minocqua has a very successful outreach program which could be used as a guide to creating programming.
