Two from CALS help review DATCP’s livestock siting rules

Two CALS faculty members are among nine people appointed to DATCP’s Livestock Facility Siting Technical Expert Committee. They include Matt Ruark, assistant professor of soil science, and Brian Holmes, professor emerltus of biological systems engineering who is currently serving as interim associate dean for extension and outreach. More info on the committee and its charge is provided here.

The committee, appointed by DATCP secretary Ben Brancel, met for the first time on Sept. 18 to begin review ATCP Rule 51, which sets standards and procedures for permitting new and expanded livestock facilities.
