Get set to stomp your feet at the June 28 CALS Barn Dance

The Barn Dance to benefit CALS is shaping up to be a real footstomper. In honor of our 125th anniversary, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the college are invited to join the fun at Crane Farms in Burlington on Saturday, June 28 from 5-11 p.m.

A local DJ will kick off the evening with classic hits, followed by a two-hour set from The Miller Rhythm & Brews Revue, Milwaukee’s premiere company band, which will covering favorite hits from the last five decades. Band members are MillerCoors employees who spend their days creating and marketing delicious beer and their nights rocking local festivals with their wide-ranging set list that you can’t help but dance to.

As one of the event’s sponsors, MillerCoors will also be providing beverages (each admission includes three drink tickets). Other sponsors include Badgerland Financial, Boldt Construction, Community State Bank, Dean’s, Foremost Farms, Pepsi, Pesche’s Greenhouse, Promega, Vita Plus, WMMB, and WE Energies Foundation.

CALS alum and member of the Board of Visitors, Terry Droessler and his family will be serving a traditional fish fry of a variety of fish caught from local Wisconsin waters. The fillets will be lightly dusted with flour and seasoning mix and deep fried on site.

Due to increased interest, the dinner serving time has been extended to 5:00-8:00 p.m. In addition to the fish fry, dinner will include sauerkraut, brats, hotdogs, and traditional old fashioned sides. Vegetarian options are also available. Homemade desserts will be served throughout the evening.

Guests will have the opportunity to bid on silent auction items, including a jersey and football signed by Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson, complete bee hive starters kit, and other unique items. Proceeds from the event will support CALS education, research and outreach programs. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door.

Crane Farms is located at 29320 31st St in Burlington, WI. The college is thankful to the alumni, friends and members of the board of visitors who are helping make this event possible.
