Faculty, academic staff and students at UW-Madison and Extension:
Please join us in the Great Hall of the Memorial Union on Friday, April 11 between 10am-2pm for the Madison Symposium of the Institute for Urban Agriculture and Nutrition (IUAN).
This event is open to faculty, staff and students of the UW-Madison and UW Extension. There is no charge, however attendees must register for complimentary lunch.
View the agenda here and then register on-line. (Update: Formal registration for this event is now closed. While the organizers cannot provide lunch to additional attendees, people who would still like to attend should contact the event manager at email@example.com.)
IUAN is envisioned as a unique collaboration between academic and community partners that will accelerate the development of urban agriculture, grow the urban food economy, and improve the health and nutrition of urban residents. This vision for the IUAN grew out of meeting in 2011 between Will Allen, Founder and CEO of Growing Power, and Chancellor Mike Lovell of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
The goal of the Symposium on April 11 is to pull together the academic community in Madison interested in contributing to this vision. Efforts to attract and involve academic and community partners in Milwaukee are also underway.
The event is supported by a “Growth Agenda for Wisconsin” grant from the UW System.
Feel free to share this invitation with faculty, staff and students who also may be interested.
