WALSAA Innovation Grants go to four CALS student orgs

The Wisconsin Agricultural and Life Sciences Alumni Association (WALSAA) recently selected four CALS student organizations to receive Innovation Grants this year. These grants, which are designed to help student orgs pursue and expand innovative club programs, were made possible by funds donated to WALSAA’s 40th Anniversary Campaign last year. The grants went to:

  • The Badger Turf and Grounds Club to attend the Golf Industry Show in Florida.
  • Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences (MANRRS) for a MANRRS career fair in Alabama.
  • The Collegiate Farm Bureau at UW-Madison to help facilitate tours for UW-Madison students to visit modern Wisconsin farms.
  • The National Agri-Marketing Association at UW-Madison for a marketing competition in Florida.

The four WALSAA Innovation grants total more than $4,000. The WALSAA 40th Anniversary Fund has enough capital to make similar grants in the next two academic years. CALS student organizations should watch for a spring call for applications from the dean’s office.
