Horticulture Society selling poinsettias, table-top pines and other holiday plants

plant_saleThe UW Horticulture Society will be holding their annual Poinsettia and Holiday Plant Sale along with the Forestry Club’s Christmas Tree Sale on December 6-8 in the Stock Pavilion. They are also accepting pre-orders via email.

In additional to the usual assortment of Poinsettias and Christmas Cacti, this year’s sale will include table top holiday pines (a.k.a. Norfolk Island Pines), the perfect holiday trees for small spaces. Tree decorations will also be available. All plants sold through the sale are indoor plants and will continue to grow year round.

Last year all plants sold out by Friday night, and the Hort Society expects the same thing will likely happen this year. To prevent a holiday heartbreak, they advise preordering your plants! Please email (subject line: Poinsettia Preorder) with your name, quantity and sizes you would like and the club will reserve those plants for you.

poinsettia-saleSMALLThis is one of two fundraisers that the club does for the year. Proceeds support the UW Horticulture Society’s bimonthly meetings, field trips to places such as Chicago Botanic Gardens, wineries and CSAs, and scholarships for students studying horticulture abroad.
