Okay, we’ve heard plenty of hard-to-believe stories about the big fish that got away. But Justin Vannieuwenhoven really did snag a couple of whoppers. The Biological Systems Engineering senior won top prize in the Burrill Business Plan Competition! The details are in this Wisconsin State Journal story. The gist is that Vannieuwenhoven’s 3 in 1 Holders, a fishing rod holder that keeps bait at a steady height even in choppy waters, won a $10,000 prize and space at University Research Park. Vannieuwenhoven invention also took the $10,000 top prize at the UW’s Schoofs Prize for Creativity in February. This entry was posted in student honors by . Bookmark the permalink.
