Musings from a first-time hunter

Last week Writer Michelle Wildgen voiced her feelings about hunting for the first time as part of the Wisconsin Public Radio’s Wisconsin Life series. What she said on the air was an excerpt from the article she wrote last year for Grow magazine article, “Hunting for Beginners.” Part of her research was taking a Learn to Hunt class taught by Karl Malcolm, who earned his Ph.D. in forest and wildlife ecology in CALS.

Wildgen is the executive editor of the literary journal Tin House and the author of the novels You’re Not You andBut Not for Long.
