Biology educators: Apply for an HHMI Teaching Fellowship by Nov. 1

We invite faculty members committed to undergraduate education and interested in preparing the next generation of undergraduate biology educators to apply to be a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Faculty Fellow. Funding is available for departmental course release through lecturer replacement and to attend a teaching and learning conference.

The Fellowship responsibilities include mentoring a group of HHMI Teaching Fellows (graduate students and post‐docs) in spring 2013 and serving as the Exploring Biology course director (Biology 100) in fall 2013. The Teaching Fellows develop and teach the instructional materials for the Exploring Biology course, which is offered as part of the First‐year Interest Groups (FIGs) program and serves 150 – 200 first‐year students each semester.
