Organic Valley’s “Whose Your Farmer” tour made a stop on campus Monday. The tour is part of campaign “designed to nurture future generations of organic farmers,” according to the company’s Generation O Facebook page. It’s part of an extended visit to Madison that began on the weekend with visits to the Willy St. Coop and Whole Foods and will continue on Tuesday at World Dairy Expo. The group set up a stand in front of Ag Hall in the morning to pass out info and free samples, then presented a seminar in Moore Hall over the lunch hour. The visit to CALS was part of a tour of land grant universities, explains Erin Silva, CALS organic research coordinator. “The tour includes some young farmers who are traveling and interacting with students about potential opportunities in organic agriculture,” she explains.
