Another Marshfield centennial: 100 years of weather observations

The Marshfield Ag Research Station receives the National Weather Service Honored Institution Award: Marshfield ARS superintendent Nancy Esser, U.S. Senator Herb Kohl and NWS Meteorologist-In_Charge Gary Austin.

Our earlier account of the August 16 celebration at the Marshfield Agricultual Research Station described two milestones but omitted mention of a third. As part of the Rededication ceremony, Gary Austin, Meteorologist-in-Charge of the National Weather Service Office in Green Bay, presented Marshfield Superintendent Nancy Esser with the National Weather Service’s 100-Year Institutional Award for outstanding service in the Cooperative Weather Observer Program.
