Big CALS weekend coming up: “Loving the Land” concert, Science Expeditions and Breakfast on the Farm

Join CALS at one or more of the following activities this coming weekend:

Friday, April 13: A concert called “Loving the Land” benefits the agroecology program. Enjoy bluegrass/classical music (“class-grass”) and a locally sourced meal. More info here.

Saturday, April 14: Come to Science Expeditions! CALS contributions include encounters with insects presented by the Insect Ambassadors and demos of molten chocolate by the Food Science Club. They are among many hands-on Exploration Stations open 10-2 in the Town Hall at the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery, 330 N. Orchard St. Nearby, check out the new Biochemical Sciences building (440 Henry Mall), which is hosting an outreach day with activities and guided tours. If you want to meet farm animals, pay a visit to the Stock Pavilion.

Sunday, April 15: Come have a hearty farm-style breakfast at AWA’s Breakfast on the Farm. The event, put on by the Association of Women in Agriculture, runs from 8am -12pm in the Stock Pavilion. In addition to breakfast, there will be a petting zoo and live entertainment. Adults: $7, reduced prices for seniors/students/children.
