Gary Radloff, who has served as interim director of the Wisconsin Bioenergy Initiative (WBI) since June 2011, will assume his former position as WBI Midwest energy policy analysis director. He will continue to advance bioenergy in Wisconsin by conducting research on sustainable biomass and land use practices, public engagement and energy policy efforts.
WBI represents the university in partnership with the UW-System, the private sector, non-profit organizations, media, policy-makers and other leaders concerned with creating a sustainable energy future.
The WBI links world-class life sciences, engineering, manufacturing and agricultural researchers and industry leaders to advance opportunities for energy creation, utilization, conservation and efficiency. Committed to collaborative, multidisciplinary research, the Initiative has recruited eight faculty members in two colleges and eight departments at UW-Madison.
