After 50-plus years, the home of UW’s famous cows on campus is getting a badly needed upgrade. On Dec. 21 the state building commission gave the go-ahead for a $3 million renovation of the campus Dairy Cattle Center. This is the third and final phase of a years-long effort to modernize CALS dairy cattle facilities statewide (the first two phases were at the Arlington and Marshfield Ag Research Stations). The new campus barns will house a combined herd for both CALS dairy scientists and the School of Veterinary Medicine. For a nice write-up on the project, see this article by Jim Massey of The Country Today. This entry was posted in Around CALS by . Bookmark the permalink.
