Wave of retirements brings staffing shifts at Steenbock

Just like the rest of campus, Steenbock Library has been undergoing a number of personnel changes due to the recent wave of retirements at our library.  This past year we saw the departure of Director Jean Gilbertson as well as Jim Buckett, Bev Phillips, Barbara Lazewski and Sylvia Pfender.  In addition, our Information Processing Consultant Ian Saunders has transferred to another department within the Library system and our Research Intern Laura Schmidli has completed her 2-year appointment.

Besides the following personnel changes listed below, please note that several areas of liaison duties have been redistributed among our Information Services staff so be sure to check our liaisons page for the most current information when you need assistance.

Lisa Wettleson is the Interim Head of Steenbock Library.

Jean Ruenger-Hanson is the Interim Head of Information Services.

Sharon Mulvey has joined our staff as the Interim Head of Collection Development and Management.

Barb Sisolak has been promoted to Instruction Coordinator.

Kathryn Maloney has joined the Access Services Department as our Reserves Supervisor.

Brianne Markowski is our new Research Intern.

Jessica Newman just began in the newly formed position of Undergraduate Services Librarian on September 12th.

Our staff have also been working hard since last semester on tasks related to the closing of the Biology Library and the consolidation of services and most of its collections into Steenbock Library.  Many of the books and journals have been moved already and we expect to wrap up this project during the fall semester.  If you have questions about the project or other library issues please contact, and to stay current with library updates consider subscribing to Steenbock News.
