Most of us plant gardens for one of two reasons: To beautify the yard or to grow food. But it doesn’t have to be an either/or deal, as a trip to Allen Centennial Gardens will tell you. See the latest post in garden director Ed Lyon’s What’s Happening in the Garden blog. Be sure to scroll through the photos to see the Ornamental Edible hedge, which, Lyon says, has produced enormous amounts of chard, beets and basil. Also note that there’s produce growing along the sidewalk for passersby to sample. Sounds like it’s time for a stroll. This entry was posted in Highlights by . Bookmark the permalink.
