TO:                 Faculty and Staff
FROM:          Casey Hillmer
RE:                Annual Current Research Information System (CRIS) Research Reports for 2010

ACTION REQUIRED BY FRIDAY, JANUARY 7, 2011

It is that time of year again to submit your annual 2010 Current Research Information System (CRIS) annual reports for all of your research activities.  These reports are required for all projects, regardless of the sponsoring/funding agency.

Please include in your reports specific statements about the broader agricultural- environmental-, economic- or health-related value of your research, and who is affected by it.

State Projects – Reporting on “state” CRIS projects should be based on your overall research program and include all active 133, 233, and 144 projects.  Do not include any information pertinent to your 142 (Hatch, Hatch Multistate, McIntire-Stennis, and Animal Health) projects or any project requiring a project-specific CRIS report (Special, Other, SERD, AFRI grants).

Hatch, Hatch Multistate, McIntire-Stennis, and Animal Health Projects – These reports should include only research activities associated with this specific award.

Special, Other, SERD, AFRI Projects – These reports should include only research activities associated with this specific award.

The AD-421 CRIS Instructions can be found at: http://www.cals.wisc.edu/waes/cris/reports.html

As a recipient of Hatch, Hatch Multistate, McIntire-Stennis, and Animal Health (Formula Grant) funds, it is extremely important for you to comply by the January 7 deadline.  If we are not compliant in meeting this deadline, we risk losing future Formula Grant funds.

Please be aware that if your report(s) is/are not completed by Friday, January 7, 2011, we will not process any gift, grant, contract, etc. materials for you as PI or Co-PI until the report(s) has/have been completed.  Any current Hatch, Hatch Multistate, McIntire-Stennis, and Animal Health funds may also be blocked for expenditures until the report(s) has/have been completed.

Please contact me at clhillmer@cals.wisc.edu or at 608-262-2397 if you have any questions or need assistance with completing these reports.

We appreciate your attention to this matter!
