News from Allen Centennial Gardens

Several news items from Ed Lyon, director of the Allen Centennial Gardens:

  • One is the creation of a new web site.  There will be more changes and constant additions but the bulk of it is up.
  • Also, the garden’s year-end newsletter can be downloaded or viewed on line from the website.
  • For the second year, Lyon created a photo book of the Garden highlighting the year’s events in photographs.  This goes out to donors at the $10,000+ level and volunteers contributing over 25 hours.  You can see the entire book through the web site on the News and Events tab by clicking on the image of the book (it takes you to Shutterfly).
  • Finally, Internship application information and descriptions for 2011 are available on the Volunteers and Interns page or by downloading this pdf.

It has been a busy year at the Gardens and we expect 2011 to be the same.  Our theme will be Color Your World, highlighting color theory in gardening, and we will continue with major structural and garden renovations.  I do keep major paths open in the Gardens through the winter so don’t miss out walking through when it is blanketed in snow for full four season interest!
