Learn about the Academic Staff Professional Development Grant Program – Oct. 12

Academic staff interesting in the  UW’s Academic Staff Professional Development Grant Program are encouraged to attend a brown bag session on the topic Tuesday, Oct. 12 at noon in room 1205A, Microbial Sciences Building.

The Professional Development Recognition Committee is pleased to announce launch of the Fall, 2010 round of the Academic Staff Professional Development grant program. Applicants are invited to submit funding proposals for professional development activities occurring between January 1 and June 30, 2011. All academic staff who hold at least a 50% academic staff appointment are eligible to apply for funding through this program, including instructional staff, clinical staff, and limited staff with an academic staff back‐up appointment.

The objectives of this grant program are: 1) individual professional development; 2) improved program quality; and 3) improved institutional effectiveness. Proposals should focus on professional development and/or (re)training to improve the effectiveness of the academic staff members in their current roles. The funds are not intended for basic job training or to meet job requirements.
