WALSAA’s annual Fire-Up tailgate party and auction – Sept. 18

The 35th Annual WALSAA Fire-Up tailgate party and auction will be held in its new location at the University of Wisconsin Foundation, 1848 University Ave, Madison, WI 53726, on Saturday, Sept. 18, prior to the Badger vs. Arizona State Sun Devil’s football game.  A limited number of football tickets are still available – they have been selling fast! This is a great opportunity to meet with old friends and be a part of the excitement that comes with being a Badger.

Fire-Up runs from 11 am to 2 pm.  Please join WALSAA for this wonderful opportunity to connect with the College of Agricultural & Life Sciences, CALS alumni and fellow WALSAA supporters to network and share your Badger pride.  Look forward to the entertaining visits from Bucky Badger, the UW Band and Badger Cheerleaders!

As in years past, Fire-Up 2010 will feature the WALSAA Silent Auction to raise money to support its Outstanding Sophomore Scholarships, Senior Activity Awards, Farm & Industry Short Course activities, leadership retreats, CALS Ambassador activities and much, much more. The UW Foundation matches funds raised at this auction so your winning bid is doubled!  The auction will feature new items and many of the wonderful auction items you bid on each year, such as the highly-contested week-long lodgings in Waupaca, Montreal and Door County; a four-pack lodging at the Kalahari; various Badger sporting event tickets; the popular pedal tractor and wagon; dining, hotel and entertainment gift certificates.  With such a variety, there is a little something for everyone.

The WALSAA annual meeting will be held prior to the Fire-Up Luncheon at 10:30am to 11:00am, where business will be conducted and new board member nominees introduced.

Tickets are still available for Fire-Up and the Badger vs. Arizona State game. The cost for both the Fire-Up Luncheon and game is $72 for adults; $62 for children 3 to 11; and ages under 3 are free. If you’d rather not attend the game, tickets for just the Fire-Up are $30 for adults; $20 for children 3 to 11; and free for those younger than 3 years old.
