Two positions are available with the CALS administrative team: Manager of Stakeholder Relations and Manager of Publications.
Manager, Stakeholder Relations description: This position serves in the UW-Madison College of Agricultural and Life Sciences Office of External Relations, which works to ensure CALS’ continued place as a leader in agricultural and life sciences research, education, and outreach by building understanding and support for the college’s missions. The successful candidate will enhance communications and develop, facilitate, and strengthen relationships between CALS and its varied constituents, including alumni, friends of the college, the community, businesses, state and federal governments, and other key external audiences. This position works directly with the dean and the assistant dean for external relations, as well as staff of the UW Foundation, Wisconsin Alumni Association, CALS career services and undergraduate recruitment, Wisconsin Agricultural and Life Sciences Alumni Association, and other stakeholder groups to develop and promote engagements with the college. Manager, Publications description: This position is part of the Office of External Relations for the UW-Madison College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing several projects that communicate the work of the college to external and internal audiences. Specific duties include:
Serve as editor of Grow, the college’s three-times-yearly alumni magazine. Generate story ideas, plan and assign articles, work with writers, edit copy, and work with designer and photographer to produce each issue, as well as overseeing budget and distribution, and updating content on the magazine’s web site.
