The Wisconsin Turfgrass Association’s Summer Field Day is set for Tuesday, July 27, 2010. This is a great opportunity to visit the college’s O.J. Noer Facility and learn about the some of the more than 80 studies being conducted there. The tour presentations will describe new research and maintenance practices to help managers of sports turf, golf courses, sod production, lawn care, parks, and other commercial turf areas. Presentations will be more in-depth than past years — per feedback from attendees at previous events.
There will also be a presention on new State of Wisconsin regulations on water use, which may require irrigating based on soil moisture. This will include a hands-on demonstration of the latest soil moisture monitoring technology.
