When will the construction end?
Some say that construction is a sign of a dynamic campus. No doubt, but other adjectives also come to mind — like noisy, dusty and congested. The good news is that it will end. The bad news: Not as soon as we’d like. The other bad news: More will follow. Here are the start and end dates for some projects on or near the CALS campus, according to the campus March 2008 Capital Planning & Development quarterly report:
• Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery: April, 2008–October 2010
• Biochemistry Phase II: November 2008 – August 2011
• Wisconsin Union Redevelopment (Union South): April 2009 – March 2011
• Randall/Dayton St. utility projects: December 2008–October 2009
• School of Human Ecology (here’s one to look forward to): 03/2010-03/2012
• University Avenue reconstruction, Park Street to Shorewood Blvd. – May 18–August 29, 2009
