The NSF has issued a call for proposals for Partnerships for International Research and Education (PIRE). These are large, multi-year grants to foster collaboration with international partners in research and education. Preliminary proposals are due to NSF February 26, 2009. Each university may submit only 3 preproposals, so campus will issue directions about internal competition and earlier due dates. See these links to the NSF call for proposals:
