Long-term care insurance is designed to help protect you against the high costs of long-term care if you can no longer perform the activities of daily living by yourself. Medicare and most health insurance will not pay for these services. For many, long-term care insurance is an important part of planning for their long-term financial security. The Assured Solutions Plus policy offers additional built-in benefits that include:
* If you die prior to age 65 while still insured, all premiums, less claims paid, will be returned to your beneficiary
* Additional benefits for injury – If, prior to 65, you require home health, assisted living or nursing home care as a result of an accident, your policy will pay up to two times your Daily Benefit.
* As an alternative to receiving benefits for home care services, nursing home and assisted living, you can receive a monthly cash benefit equal to ten times your basic services daily benefit – No elimination period requirement – No restrictions on how cash is used – No requirements that expenses be incurred.
* To help adequately cover the most expensive type of long term care, you can choose to have your policy pay up to 300 percent of your selected daily benefit for professional home care services.
HealthChoice also offers CareOptions Direct Care Planning Assistance & CareOptionsOnLine (COOL.net) services that are currently available to those who purchase an insurance plan through HealthChoice.
The CareOptions Direct & On-Line Program aids individuals in finding services or providers for themselves or a family member who is sick, disabled, or elderly. As an additional convenience, the CareOptions On-Line Web-based service can assist you and your family members create Living Wills (advance directives for health care) as well as allow you to conduct online care provider searches and medical information research seven days a week, 24 hours a day.
