Wednesday, October 1st will be the first Forum on Agriculture, Climate, & Energy Technology Sustainability – (FACETS) — workshops and seminars for innovation and action sponsored by Program on Agricultural Technology Studies (PATS), Land Information and Computer Graphics Facility, and the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. This forum will bring together experts in various fields to provide an opportunity for the generation and evaluation of ideas related to agricultural production, bioenergy, and land use, and how they interact with climate change mitigation and adaptation (download a flyer).

Though these forums will generally take place in the Madison area, we have just arranged a way for these discussions to be accessible from remote locations. Through streaming video, electronic copies of materials, and an interactive chat session, interested parties can both watch the presentation and participate in the discussion – from your desktop!

This series kicks off October 1st from 12:00 – 1:30, in Taylor Hall 115 with a presentation by Gary Radloff (DATCP) and Allison Hellman (DNR), which will focus on the agricultural and forestry components of the Governors global warming task force recommendations.

Depending on your location, there will be a slight delay (20 -30 seconds) between what you see on your desktop and what is happening in “real time,” but we will be sure to field questions and comments that come in from the chat session and address them during the discussion. Additionally, there will be a blog that will respond to any questions that do not get addressed during the session.
