Public radio reporter journalist Jonathan Miller speaks here on Sept. 23

The Department of Life Sciences Communication welcomes Jonathan Miller to campus on September 23. As part of the Life Sciences Communication Centennial Speaker Series, Miller will present, “Telling Stories: The Power and the Peril,” at 12 p.m. in the Ebling Symposium Center on the first floor of the Microbial Sciences Building on September 23. Miller is a veteran public radio reporter and will talk about the importance of storytelling in journalism, and about the pitfalls. Miller is executive director of Homelands Productions, a non-profit media group that specializes in public radio documentaries. A long-time reporter for National Public Radio, Miller is executive producer of WORKING, a series about jobs in the global economy currently airing on Marketplace, and was editorial director of Think Global, a collaboration between 300 public radio stations and 35 national shows.
