Please mark your calendar for Tuesday, September 30th from 9-10:30 for the next CALS communicators meeting. Like last time, we’ll start with snacks and socializing, and then move into our program at 9:30. The meeting place is still up in the air. If you would like to be notified, please contact Rebecca Bock at rbock.wisc.edu and ask to be put on the CALS Communicators email list.
The focus of our September meeting will be finding a good student intern for your communications office. It seems safe to say that we all feel crunched for time, and have exciting communication projects that we can’t seem to find time to get to. In this sort of situation, having an intern can be an enormous help. They are one of the great, underappreciated resources on the CALS campus! The discussion—led by a panel including two CALS communicators with interns, and two student interns—will cover a wide variety of issues, including: the hiring process, whether to offer credit or a paycheck, the types of projects that are appropriate for interns, and tips for making it a positive, mutually beneficial experience. This entry was posted in Uncategorized by jsindelar.
