PEOPLE program seeks CALS volunteers for guest lectures or lab tours

Many thanks to you who have volunteered your time and effort into providing summer internships for students participating in the UW-Madison PEOPLE Program, a pre-college program designed to give students from targeted minority student groups early academic enrichment activities. Many of you expressed interest in participating in this program, but did not have the space or time available this summer. Next summer, we plan to move much earlier as we now understand better how the program works. In the mean time, there are still opportunities to be involved this summer.

We invite you to consider coming into a class to provide a guest lecture, or to allow the nine students to tour your area to see the research and activity that goes on. We have open dates that can be filled for this purpose on the following dates: July 14, 15, 18, 22, 24, 25, 28, and 29. The time frame available would be 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., but it is not necessary to use the full time if that is not practical.

If you are interested in securing one of these dates, please contact Tom Browne at, or call 262-3288.
