Joe Lauer, Professor of Agronomy and extension agronomist, has been chosen as president-elect of the Crop Science Society of America. His term begins in January 2009. CSSA is an international scientific society dedicated to the conservation and wise use of natural resources to produce food, feed, and fiber crops while maintaining and improving the environment. Lauer joined the UW-Madison faculty in 1994 and was promoted to professor since 2003.
