Making Effort Reporting Easy

Though effort reporting may not be the most thrilling aspect of your job, it is a requirement and thanks to online and in-person training, it can be easy.

RSP regularly offers in-person sessions to walk certifiers through the program and answer questions about commitments, understanding effort, and how to certify research staff. Visit their website at http://www.rsp.wisc.edu/effort/training/ to view the schedule and sign up for a session.

ECRT training in a requirement for all certifiers. Consequences for not completing training include refusal by the University to process proposals, execute award agreements, and establish accounts for new or continuing projects. The complete consequences statement can be found at www.rsp.wisc.edu/effort/effortConsequences.html.

To help understanding the effort system and certification, personal assistance is available from your departmental effort coordinator or Laurel Norris at the CALS Research Division, lnorris@cals.wisc.edu, 608-890-1677.
