CALS welcomes its newest alumni
The newest group of CALS alumni celebrated their accomplishments with Dean Jahn and representatives from the college (as well as Bucky Badger and members of the UW-Madison Marching Band) at the CALS Commencement Reception. The reception took place in the Nicholas-Johnson Pavilion following the 10:00am commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 17, 2008. Over 650 people attended the reception including 106 graduates who were asked to share their plans for next year.
Of those who responded, 34 plan to attend graduate or professional school. 10 will continue their studies at UW-Madison, while others head off to Cornell University, North Carolina State, University of Chicago, and University of Texas among others. Some 33 are already employed at places including the Department of Natural Resources, USDA, Land O’Lakes, and Monsanto. A few entrepreneurs are already self-employed. 19 were unsure of their employment or graduate/professional school plans. The college welcomes the graduating class of 2008 into the CALS alumni network of over 33,000 strong!
